HOW TO BE A HOST:
Start by signing up and updating your profile page. Then add your listings and complete all relevant fields. Guests find your listings and make a reservation.
If you are not the home/apartment owner, kindly make sure there is no prohibition against subletting or any other restriction against hosting. Please read your lease agreement and obtain permission from your Landlord if necessary.
If you have roommates, ensure you get their approval and enter an agreement with them on how often you plan to host and how you’ll ensure guests follow House Rules.
We take rejection very seriously; therefore, if you decline too many reservation requests we may fine you or temporarily deactivate your listing.
You cannot decline a guest based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, marital status or age.
You cannot set different terms/conditions based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, marital status or age.
Your listing must not portray a preference for or against any guest based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, marital status or age.
Whenever a guest contacts you (whether there is a reservation or not), effort should be made to respond to their queries within 24 hours. You get good reviews when you respond to queries promptly.
If your listing is not available or a guest cannot comply with the House Rules you set, you have to decline the reservation immediately.
Once you confirm a reservation and something changes about your listing before the due date, ensure to inform your guest in advance.
If you will not be available when your guest arrives, ensure to give your guest a local point of contact or make alternative welcoming arrangement to make sure they settle quickly.
Immediately you know that you have to cancel, your guest reserves the right to be informed as soon as possible. This will give them enough time to find accommodation alternatives. Your listing can be temporarily deactivated if you cancel a confirmed booking without informing the guest on time.
You must make sure your guests know how to contact you if they have a travel delay or last-minute question.
Every room your guest can use during their stay has to be kept clean, especially the common areas – e.g. bathroom, kitchen, and balcony.
If you provide towels and sheets, you must make sure they are clean. You may charge a cleaning fee to pay for cleaning supplies or hire a professional cleaner to clean after your guest checks out.
As a host, you are obliged to make available a house guide containing all the basic information the guest needs to make their stay worth it – e.g. (wifi password, how to use bathroom/kitchen equipment, gadgets, etc).
On no account should you ask a guest to pay for a reservation outside of Homedorado’s on-site payment system. If you are caught doing so, your listing can be permanently deactivated.
How you control your pricing is up to you, however, it’s important to set a price that corresponds with what your listing has to offer.
GUEST SERVICE FEE:
We charge guests a service fee of 15% when a reservation is confirmed. The guest service fee is added to the booking subtotal and is automatically deducted before the payout is made to the host.
Homedoarado will release your payout 24 hours after you make a payout request. The time it takes for the funds to arrive in your account depends on your payout method.
- Bank transfer or international wire:2–7 business days
- PayPal: Within 2 – 3 business day
WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAY DELAYS:
Many banking systems don’t process transactions on weekends or holidays. If your payout from Homedorado is completed between Friday and Sunday, it might not be processed until the next week.
Your bank may charge a fee to receive foreign currency. If the funds are transferred using an intermediate bank, the intermediate bank may also deduct fees from the payout. Homedorado can’t inform you on how much you’ll be charged to receive an international wire. Homedorado is not responsible for any fees deducted during the international wire by your bank, or by the intermediary bank.
